Ingredients
2 servings
Chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 can (15.5 oz)
Garlic
2 clove
Yellow onion, cut into chunks
1/2 onion
Cilantro
3 sprig
Ground cumin
1 teaspoon
Salt
1 1/4 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Paprika
1/2 teaspoon
Rolled oats
1/4 cup
All purpose flour
2 tablespoon
Directions
1
Place all ingredients for the burger patties in a food processor and pulse 3 to 5 times,
just until the mixture is smooth enough to hold together. Do not process too long or the
burgers will end up pasty.
2
Divide the mixture into 4 equal balls and roll them even in between your palms. Lightly flatten each into a patty shape and place on a plate. Chill the formed patties for 15 minutes in the freezer.
3
Spray cooking spray to a large frying pan and heat over medium-high. Add the patties and cook on each side for 4 to 5 minutes, until golden brown. Finish cooking burgers in a 425º F oven for 10-15 more minutes. This helps them get crispy.
4
Serve patties on a whole grain bun with toppings and condiments like lettuce, tomato, and onion (Optional).
5
Meal Prep Note: The patties can be frozen before cooking for use later!
